A model army using woodscrews as soldiers based on an article in Miniature Warfare magazine in 1969

My Mum passed away last night so clearly I will have a vast amount of things to do over the coming weeks or even months. I do not expect to get much if any modelling time let alone time to blog. I will endeavour to pick up the threads of this blog at some time in the hopefully not too distant future.

If I had any regular readers of this blog they would have noticed that I have not posted for three weeks now. The reasons for this are; being on holiday, slaving in the garden and visiting my old Mum who is currently in hospital. All this has left me very little time to play soldiers let alone write a blog post. However this afternoon I find I have some spare time to at least update on my activities, such as they have been, over the past few weeks.
I have finished the final Infantry battalion and the Cavalry command battalion. The batch of GS wagons has also been completed and issued. I have today completed painting the batch of Forge wagons and will publish a separate post on construction and painting of these vehicles just as soon as I have some more time to spare. I am currently painting the soldiers for the final Pioneer battalion and have just started the last two Heavy Artillery battalions.
I am now very close to completion of the whole army, there are only some more GS wagons and artillery caissons left to build and a Medical battalion and a QM Transport battalion left to paint. I have a large number of potential organisational and equipment changes to implement which will keep me busy for a while yet but I am facing the possible end of my hobby. I do have a plan to create another army but that is wholly dependant on getting permission from my wife for another display unit, something she is strangely not keen on, there are already two in the spare room and one in the library room so whats another one matter?????
If you do read this please leave a message with your views, good bad or otherwise, its all interesting to me.
